Cerithidea cingulata (Gmelin, 1791)
Description
Black brown with white or yellow spiral cords which formed
grains with axial cords. Spire triangular gimlet with three varices.
Spiral canal under the suture deep. Aperture elongate and anterior edge of
outer lip long.
Locality
Japan: Boso Peninsula, Mouth of Tokyo Bay in 0.1m, Sagami Bay, Yamaguchi.
Pacific Ocean.

Remarks
Cerithidea cingulata can be usually picked up on the beach. Most shells
are sober and lustrous one is few. Especially, the shell that spiral cords
under the suture colored by yellow is beautiful. C. cingulata has
decreased at the mouth of Tokyo bay.
