Description
Slightly glossy white, with plate like axial ribs which sharpens a little on the shoulder, having weak spiral ribs between each axial ribs. Resembles Epitonium eusculptum and Epitonium eximiellum. However, the number of axial rib in E. eusculptum is small, and each axial rib is weak. Also, the E. eximiellum is thin. *1

Locality
Japan: Kyushu, Shikoku, Setonaikai, South of Sado Island, Sagami Bay in 0-50m, Mouth of Tokyo Bay in 20-50m (fig.1), Boso Peninsula, Sanriku coast.

Remarks
The scientific name for Sagami itokake used to be Cinctiscala sagamiense (Pilsbry, 1911), but it's now Epitonium eximium (Adams & Reeve, 1850). And C. sagamiense is apparently a synonym. The specimen shown in Fig. 1 was collected in Mouth of Tokyo Bay. It resembles the type of C. sagamiense (Pilsbry, 1911) which collected Kamakura, Sagami Bay. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the type of E. eximium. However, the shell shown in Adams & Reeve, 1850 pl. 11, fig. 16 is slightly thicer and have fewer axial ribs than the specimen shown in fig. 1 above. Furthermore, the origin is only listed as "China Sea," and no further details are available.
