The figured specimens were collected in Chigasaki, Sagami Bay, Japan.
Since Ruri gai are transported by the Kuroshio Current, they first wash
ashore near Tateyama on the Boso Peninsula in the Tokyo area, followed
a few days later by the Miura, Kamakura, and Chigasaki areas, in that order.
